Above is an arrangement of planetary images as seen during 2001. From left to right they are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. All are to the same scale (about 4 pixels to the arcsecond) with respect to their apparent diameter at the time they were observed. These images were captured with an Mx5c CCD camera on the TBGS 50cm reflector, stopped down to 20cm and using teleconverters to increase image scale by x2 or x4 depending on conditions. There's a fair difference in sharpness between the images as some (particularly Mercury) were taken when they were very low in the sky.
